Middle Creek Expands services in response to Covid-19 –    UPDATED 3/23/2020   revised at 10:30 pm 

 Please read carefully.  It is important to seek medical attention early if you are sick.  We are equipped to provide testing for all viruses including SARS-COV2 for our established patients as clinically indicated. We are partnered with ADPH, QUEST and ROCHE laboratory to offer testing by appointment for COVID-19. You must be an established patient and meet the clinical criteria.  Follow these instructions to make an appointment. 

Our clinical team has prepared three ways to safely access urgent care services during these unprecedented times.  

  1. Telemedicine 
  2. Remote SIGN-INDRIVE-IN service your car is the waiting room   
  3. Walk-in- non sick/no fever/Drug Screens/non contagious 

  #TELEMEDICINE OPTION– Established Medicare patients and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama insured patients may call us at 205-477-3737 to take advantage of telemedicine benefits.  You can speak directly to a Physician or Nurse practitioner.  Many non-emergency health issues can be handled via telephone. 

#2 REMOTE SIGN-IN DRIVE IN   EFFECTIVE THURSDAY MARCH 26, 2020– Your car is the waiting room! 

In response to the current situation Middle Creek has Implemented a REMOTE SIGNIN DRIVE-IN Use your own smart phone to sign in and get in line without having to come inside. If you are sick, you need to see a doctor- CLICK HERE TO SIGN IN NOW. (REMOTE signin will be active March 26, 2020) 

ALL SICK PATIENTS – PLEASE USE REMOTE SIGN-IN beginning March 26, 2020.  For now, CALL FROM YOUR CAR before entering the building- help us reduce the spread of viruses 

When you arrive at the clinic. Stay in your car, access the REMOTE SIGN IN link to let the staff know you have arrived and request to see a provider This puts you on our scheduling que immediately.  Your car is your waiting room. You will receive an acknowledgment text immediately. Follow the instructions given on your text. A cell number is required for REMOTE SIGN-IN.  No smart phone? No problem, give us a call and we can sign you in and provide you with instructions via telephone. 

WE WILL TEXT YOU when it’s your turn, and keep you informed on the wait times. 

All sick patients are asked to sign in REMOTELY– this protects YOU, our staff and others!   You will receive a text acknowledging that you are on our schedule. Follow the instructions on the text. YOUR CAR is the waiting room. 

 We are performing COVID-2 testing for our established patients who are clinically indicated for testing according to ADPH guidelines.  If testing for SARS-COV 2 is indicated clinically, you may be swabbed from your vehicle. 

You will receive a text or call when we are ready for you to enter the clinic or ask you to remain in your car and a provider will evaluate and test you from your vehicle. 

#3 Walk-in patients ALL NON-SICK patients– (UTI,drug screenssprains, cuts, injuries, ear pain, rash etcyou are welcome to walk-in or use the remote signin for your convenience to SAVE YOUR SPOT. 

EXTRA CARE AND SANITIZATION IS BEING PERFORMED DAILY and THROUGHOUT THE DAY TO KEEP MCMC A SAFE SPACE for all things Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine. 

For HIGH RISK patients (COPD, ASTHMATICOLDER PEOPLE) who have mild symptoms (COUGH COLD FLU LIKE) we recommend testing now.   CLICK HERE TO SIGN-IN (available march 26, 2020) when you arrive. 

SARS-COV2 symptoms are similar to other common seasonal illnesses like flu and allergies.  However, the COVID-19 virus can accelerate from mild symptoms to severe quickly for older people or those with other health problems.  Therefore, it is crucial to be evaluated if you are sick to determine the root cause, especially if you have existing health problems.  Don’t Wait. 

If you have severe shortness of breath or other life-threatening issues GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM or call 911. 

PUBLIC COVID-19 TESTING LOCATIONS: 

UAB DOWNTOWN is doing testing for those who are at HIGHER RISK of severe symptoms, and those known to have been exposed to the virus (these are high priority)
